Scope: |
The Wastewater Treatment Plant Primary Clarifier and Scum System Rehabilitation project for the City of Boca Raton consists of the replacement of one (1) existing 100-foot diameter primary clarifier aluminum geodesic domes with in-kind aluminum geodesic cover; demolition and removal of existing scum storage and pumping system, and construction of two (2) FRP scum storage tanks with air driven diaphragm scum pumps; rehabilitation of structural concrete, installation of protective coating on interior walls, and painting of exterior of Primary Clarifiers Nos. 1 and 2; rehabilitation of Primary Clarifier Nos. 1 and 2 feed well, skimmer arm, rake arm, and clarifier mechanism; replacement of three (3) existing tilting weirs on the effluent side of the aeration basins with three (3) FRP fixed weirs; modifications to existing 30-inch influent piping and addition of 8-inch transfer piping at each aeration basin. Installation of FRP baffles within the basin; installation of transfer piping and modifications to existing 30-inch influent piping; replacement of the existing handrail on the aeration basins including the existing handrails on the walkways leading from the aeration basins to Building Nos. 29 and 34 to meet current building code requirements; rehabilitation and replacement of the lightning protection system for the aeration basins and the addition of a lightning protection system on the connecting walkways from the aeration basins to Building Nos. 29 and 34; rehabilitation of structural concrete and the installation of protective coatings on the interior basin walls, the beams/columns and platform supporting the mechanical aerators, and the interior walls of the effluent channel; disconnection of existing medium voltage feeder from Building 25 switchgear to Building 33 unit substations on both sides; repower Building 33 from existing circuit breakers located in Building 22 switchgear with new 15kV feeder conductors in new and existing raceway; demolition and removal of existing medium voltage feeder for existing unit substations in Building 22; and repower unit substations from existing circuit breakers located in Building 22 switchgear with new 15kV feeder conductors in existing raceway. |
