Project: | Immokalee Biosolids Dewatering Immokalee, Florida |
Value: | $2,000,000.00 |
Scope: | This project is the result of Design-Build-Finance team consisting of Florida Design Contractors (Selected Construction Firm), Schwing Bioset (Equipment Manufacturer/Owner/Finance), and Craig A. Smith (Design Engineer). The project was contracted as a Design-Build-Finance between the Immokalee Water & Sewer District and Schwing Bioset via the award of a Request for Proposal in 2012. The system consist of a polymer feed system and a belt filter press capable of handling a design feed rate of 80 gpm of 1.5% solids sludge (0.70 Volatile Solids Ratio) with a design loading volume of 64,000 gallons per week, and resulting in 18% solids. The sludge processing system is capable of converting Immokalee's 18% solids sludge volume to a beneficial fertilizer/soil amendment product. While this is not the first system of its kind in Florida, the implementation of the belt filter press makes this system unique and the first of its kind in not only Florida but in the Nation. |
